MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Anxiety, Depression, Psychosis, Substance
Abuse, Eating Disorders, Suicide - they don't just happen to others.
They can come "close to home" for any one of us. What if it were a
family member or a friend? What if it were you? How would you know?
And how could you help? You may know CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver.
You can call 911. But can you administer First Aid in a mental health
crisis? You are more likely to encounter a person in an emotional or
mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental disorders are
more common than heart disease and cancer combined. Understand,
support, and make a difference.
This 12 hour course will educate participants about mental health,
dispel myths related to mental health problems, and give training for
identifying and providing initial help to individuals experiencing
mental health problems.
Participants will receive a manual and a certificate upon successfully completing the course.
